Wrap me up in bubbles

Att668915_1
We are almost done with packing.  B took this funny pic of me a couple days ago when I was all tired out from examining the boxes for accurate packing material and non-breakable wrapping.  There are about 15 boxes total now in our old place and I like to jump over them, hide behind them and pretend I am attacking B.  She gets a little annoyed after a while, but I think for the stress she is putting me through, I have a right to be a little aggressive.

Tonight, Kai is bringing the truck over and we have two human boyz that will help us pack everything up.  Then Kai, myself and B will spend the last night at our place and tomorrow we are all officially moving to Pawtown.  I am excited and nervous and also a little melancholy, because Potter Park is the place that I was born and where B and I spent most of our time together.  I am, however, looking forward to have a male human in my life.  Kip will be a great addition to our little household.

Anyone who does not have the smarts to take care of their pets while traveling should not become president.

Four more days

Monday, June 25th, 2007

Att655545Here is a pic of me sitting in front of the Mac (I would love to call it my Mac, but I am sharing with B).  As you can see from the pic, there is a lot of messiness in our place lately.  B has been cleaning out the bookshelves and now all these books are in piles on the floor, which makes navigating for me quite difficult.  Most of our old furniture is also gone and things have already been moved around so that the moving truck can be easily loaded when the BIG day arrives - this coming Thursday evening.

We have also had a bunch of people come and go over the last week or so.  Some people picked up furniture that B sold to them and some people picked up books that B is giving away.  It is sort of an exciting time in my life, as I am meeting more and more humans.  They all look very different, I have to say and some of them smell better than others.  But I am digressing…

B and I have four more nights in our pad and then we are gone for good.  I am excited to leave my birthplace, but B is getting a bit nostalgic.  She has been living in the pad for almost 4 years now (I joined her after she had been living there for a year already - a valuable addition.) and is quite attached to the memories she has of the space.  I think she is mourning her garden the most, as we won’t have any outdoor space in Pawtucket.

I have to say that I am ready to move.  I heard so many great things about the new place that I am looking forward to exploring new nooks and niches.  I have also been told that there is hiding places that can only be accessed by a ladder.  Wow!  I know how to climb a ladder, but Kip will have to teach me how to get down.

I will try to write more about these last four days here in Cambridge, but cannot make any promises.  In the end jumping into empty boxes is a little more exciting than using my paws for writing.

Dedication

Saturday, June 16th, 2007

Humans do this funny thing were they like to "dedicate" things to each other.  B says that it is done in music and books and all kinds of artsy stuff.  She also said that it is a sweet thing to do.  So, since I like to be a bit more human and I also want to cheer up B, here is my dedication to her.  I think the song is purrrfect in "representing" B and and I.  We are BBF and if I could hold an umbrella with my paws, I would hold it high so she can come under.  Plus, it’s a fun song and I like to shake by kitten booty to it.

Why the sweet feline dedication you ask?  Well, B is a bit bumped out this week.  On Monday she got an email from the INS that her case has been transferred to another office.  Researching this new office, it turns out that cases that require interviews often get sent to this office.  So, now she is nervous.  She is wondering why they want to talk to her.  She insists to have never gotten into any trouble with the law and has been paying her taxes.  Also, she does not have any weird diseases, like TB or STDs (yes, they check for that before they allow you to get a Green Card).  Ultimately, though, this transfer means also additional processing time and B’s blood pressure has been up for the last year - ever since she filed.  I am surely hoping that everything will work out.  Maybe I can come to the interview with her.  They MUST give out Green Cards to humans that adopt lonely shelter kittens like me.

He’s got me love stoned

Wednesday, June 13th, 2007

This is going out to my favorite male human.  He certainly has got my little kitten heart love stoned and he knows it.  His bike was stolen last night (after leaving it for 30 seconds unattended) and I hope this video will cheer him up, especially when I tell him that Justin looks only half as fashionable in his white suit.

If anyone notices a new bike being paneled around by someone who did not have one before, please contact me.  I am offering a $50 finders fee out of my kitty savings jar.

My time with Mariah

Thursday, June 7th, 2007

Now that B and Kip have returned from their European adventures things are slowly settling back to our old routine.  I like routines.  I hate changes.

However, there is one exception to this statement.  I actually liked the cute girl who took care of me in B’s absence.  In fact, I decided to call Mariah "My girl".  We are like this right now - holding up paw with two of my small nails crossed over each other.  I hope you are all getting that visual image.  If not, I suggest a course in visual imageries or just some glasses.

One thing that will my previous caretakers and occasional visitors surprise, is the fact that I let Mariah hold me.  Yes!  And I kinda liked it too.  She was very gentle with me.  I ended up not taking the next step - sleeping in the same bed, but we had our moments.  It was a very enjoyable experience.  (Heh, and I got to see her in the shower.  Now who wants to pay for those images… Kitten tease!)

B even said that I looked like I gained some weight.  And I surely blame that on the three pints of ice cream that was freely available in the freezer.  Mariah may be a runner, but she sure is a eater as well.  Now that is a girl to my liking.

Smoochie and jealousy

Thursday, June 7th, 2007

Apparently, this big walrus has only eyes for one boy.  I think that is a little insane und unhealthy, but I guess it explains why B gets a little fuzzy when I get to close to Kip.  I need to get my own feline boyfriend.

Back with new habits

Wednesday, June 6th, 2007

Kip and B are finally back from Italy and they have brought back some brand new habits.

Kip came over yesterday during the day and tried to feed me some fishy, salty and oily things.  He said that they are called Sardines and are very popular in Tuscany.  He sniffed a little and turned my head.  No way, Jose… I am not eating such things.

B brought back some new shoes and has been wearing them around the house to "wear them in".  This morning she stepped on me with one of those heely things.  OUCH!  I sure hope they will go back to their old ways soon.
