German attention

Thursday, August 31st, 2006

I have been enjoying my time with Mom and Pap Schellenberg a lot.  It is so nice to have someone around during the day that plays with me, rubs my belly and thinks I am the greatest feline in the world.  B often forgets how neat and sweet I actually am, because I am so much around her.  I guess that is what happens to humans.  They get used to things and they sort of loose interest.  Well, maybe she has not lost interest, but she used to take more time to snuggle with me.  Now, she just does it with Kip.  Of course, if she would read this post she would defend herself by saying that I am just jealous and that in fact she cuddles more with me than with Kip.  Tsk, humans!

Anyway, Mom and Pap are great.  I am trying to talk them into getting a German feline.  It would be nice to have a German counterpart.  We could be buddies!

News from the German front

Monday, August 28th, 2006

So, Mama and Papa Schellenberg arrived on time this past Sunday.  After much whining and begging, B still did not allow m to come to the aiport with her.  She said that security may take me away and that I am too precious to be taken away.  That is a bunch of doggie-poop if you ask me.  But whatever, it is done and now I have the parents with me all day.

Of course, I had to sniff them first and check out all the luggage they brought.  They do smell a little like B, but they use different detergent in Germany and that distracts me a little.  Nevertheless, I already made myself at home in their open suite cases.  And yes, I got a little gift already.  It’s a beautiful feather on a stick.  I chased it and tried to bite it, but to no avail, as Papa Schellenberg was quick at pulling the stick back whenever I was close to grabbing it.  I will practise.

I also managed to escape twice already.  B is pretty good at keeping me in check and it is hard to sneak into the basement or out the door.  But Mom and Pap Schellenberg are not as quick and so I ran into the basement and out the door once so far.  It’s an exciting world out there.  I just wish B would not catch me so quickly and transport me back inside.  And, I do hate those speeches I get whenever I escape.  Tsk, I am still a kitten, you know… I gotta sneak around.

Well, more later about this esciting visit.  I gotta go and sniff around some more.  Maybe there is another gift for me.

Partyyyy…

Friday, August 25th, 2006

I am pretty excited today, because B finally decided yesterday to have a party to celebrate her 15 year anniversary in the US.  Mama and Papa Schellenberg will be here to celebrate and will prepare some of the food.  Papa Schellenberg has lots of experience grilling and Mama Schellenberg makes the yummiest German potato salad you will have ever tasted.  B invited over 100 people - people she has met through the last 15 years.  I certainly hope that most of them will come, as I only know about 20% of the humans she knows.  I told B that I will be good kitten that day and that she does not have to move me to Kip’s house for the event.  I will not run away and be scared, but party with the best of them.

If you have not received the evite, but want to come, let me know and I will forward it to you. PARTY ON!

Drooling

Thursday, August 24th, 2006

Do you ever drool when you get excited?  Well, I do.  Especially when B gets home.  I mean, I have not seen her all day - usually more than 8 hours and then I just want to cuddle, hug and be all over her.  But she gets a bit upset with me.  Mostly because I get my drool all over the rug and the couch and the table.  Yes, I jump all over things in excitement.  Gezzzz, forgive me for loosing a little saliva.  What is the harm in that?

Medical exams

Monday, August 21st, 2006

I was happy today, as B came home early.  She had a mid-day appointment at a doctors to get an exam done for the INS.  Yes, the INS requires all immigrants that apply for a Green card to get examined for TB, syphilis, HIV and small pox (and a bunch of other things that my little kitten brain cannot remember).  Apparently, the US government is worried about allowing people into the country that may spread disease or are sick and thus, would require state assistance.  While I think that is understandable, I am wondering what sense it makes to have this exam when the person applying for the Green card has already been in the country.  I mean, B had about 12 years to  spread her germs.  Of course, she is a very healthy human girl, but doesn’t this just show the incomprehensible laws that are put in place for immigrants.  Ok, I won’t get into it much further, as most of you, my lovely readers, know my stand on the whole immigration issue.  I do want to point out that B had to pay 200 USD to get this exam done by an "INS-approved" doc.  The whole exam took 15 minutes and she was not allowed to use her health care to pay for it.  It’s pure robbery!  And who is going to give me money for a new water fountain now?

My kitten toes

Monday, August 21st, 2006

I am so sorry for not having written in several days, but I had a bad experience and it took me a while to process it.  I am still not comfortable talking about it, except for the fact that someone stepped on my toes and it hurt like elephant pain.  But don’t ask who or how?  I have been accused of having spilled many secrets, I won’t spell this one.

Barbaro

Tuesday, August 15th, 2006

I am so happy about this report.  Barbaro has been struggling ever since he had his accident.  First things looked bad, then they looked much better, than there was a set back and the doctor said that he may die within the next couple days and now he is grassing.  He beat the odds.  I bet his horse brain thought about all his great accomplishments and decided that he cannot yet die being three years old.  What a determined fellow.  I admire that.  Go Barbaro!  I know you can run again, even though I will kick your horse ass around the roundabout.

Back in town

Tuesday, August 15th, 2006

So, Kip got back into tow late Sunday night and I greeted him with purring and a warm kitty hug.  But guess, who got gifts?  Not me, because I am just a little kitten.  B got a beautiful green bracelet and a sarong.  What?  Yeah, that is what I was thinking.  He better watch himself when he comes over next time.  I don’t forget things easily. Tsk!

Musical kitties

Saturday, August 12th, 2006

Who did not think that we kitties like music?  In fact, we are quite musical and we all prefer different music.  I am myself a very classical girl, but I do admire (and sometimes aspire) to be a rap kitten.  Who are you?
