Summer BBQ

We had a "Kick of the summer" BBQ at my house last Sunday.  I wanted to name it the "Sadie is the best" BBQ, but I got outvoted by Kip and B.  Chuckles!  I spent most of the time in B’s bedroom, because she thought I may take the opportunity to sneak out into the wild.  Of course, she totally forgot that I am so not into the wild and actually a little bit scared of it.  The bedroom was fine, but I would have rather watched the peeps.  I heard so many voices and dancing and chewing and drinking.  It sounded like a fun party and all without moi.  This CANNOT happen again.  Christina and Kara were so nice as to come into my room every once in a while and say ‘Hello’.  I am going to post a couple pictures of them with me here, so if you see these lovely women on the street, you can say to them "Heh, I like how you took care of the S when B had her party.  You are good people."  (The boy next to Kara is Richard.  He is funny and enchanting.  And for your smart women, he is still available.  But only for smart women.)

It’s all for the dogs

I have been kind of lame about my blog, I admit, and I send my biggest kitten apologies to everyone.  There is no reason for me to be a slacker-kitten, except that B went away on business for a couple days and thus, I had no access to the ‘puter and that it has been so warm that I have not found the energy to stretch my paws for typing.

Well, in either case, the big news is that I met my first dog this past weekend.  Yes, a DOG!  Not a dawg, of which I only know a couple (yes, some of them are B’s friends).  We had a male visitor this weekend named Dave.  Nice guy, but he has no Kip touch for sure.  Dave brought another friend over, who had a female dog - Maggie, I believe.  She was about three times my size and black and white with short fur.  Real cutster!  I saw her and immediately ran over to greet her.  You know, I wanted to welcome her to my house.  But she did not take that well and tucked her tail between her hind legs and gave a little growl.  That, of course, scared the kitten-poop out of me (’cuse the language) and I made my tail stand up and fluff up the hair.  At this point, the dog mama told B that this may not go over well.  I was quickly picked up and moved to the bedroom.  Nevermind that this was taken place in my house and if anyone should have been removed, it should have been the dog.  These humans!  Well, that was the extend of my dog experience and I am really not to keen to meet another for a while.  Does anyone have fish?

A confession

Friday, May 19th, 2006

I have to confess that I am very much afraid of thunder and lightening.  This morning at 8am, I was woken up by some really loud noises and big flashes of light.  It was scary to see this outside my window.  The flashes really hurt my eyes and the noise was way too loud for my little kitten ears.  At first, I did not know what to do and thus, ran back and forth between the kitchen and the hallway.  Then B talked to me and petted my belly and chest.  My little heart was beating so fast, I thought it might explode in my chest.  She told me that these things are natural occurrences and that I am safe and sound inside our house.  It calmed me a little bit, but I decided that it will be safer to snuggle myself under the blankets that hung over the bed post.  No one can see me while I am under there and thus, the lightening will not get to me.  I know I may be a bit silly about all of this, but I’d rather sit in a lion’s cage then be listening to thunder.  At least I would learn how to roar from the tops of my lungs.

B seems to be obsessed with the world championship of soccer.  That is truly all she has been talking about lately.  It is kinda annoying, because I don’t like big balls.  In fact, they scare me and thus, her talking about a bunch of 22 men chasing one big ball makes me kind of squeezy in the belly area.  But I suck it up, because I am half German and that means that I am supossed to love soccer.  Yes, soccer is what they live and dream over there.  No wonder the Germany economy is so sucky.  They should concentrate on exercising their brain powers more, don’t ya think?  Instead it is all about who will be the German goalie, what is the German trainer still doing in the US when his team is loosing momentum, how can one get a ticket for the stadium in Berlin.  I heard that even the politicians get involved.  It is crazy.  You know, the Schellenberg’s even postponed their trip to see us till August, because Papa Schellenberg believes he will not be able to see the games over here. Ha, and how much more exciting is baseball.  Well, at least the ball is smaller.  GO GERMANY!  TOOOOOR.

Maggie

I don’t have much time today, as the sun is shining for the first time in 10 days and I am busy ensuring that none of the bugs from the garden enter our kitchen.  But here is a sad and also funny story for you to read about Maggie.

Caught

Tuesday, May 16th, 2006

I got caught today.  Caught sleeping!  B came home a little after lunch with a colleague of hers who is moving into the area and wanted to check out what his money can rent in our fab city.  I was napping after having devoured the last Greenies and pretending to be a monkey swinging on the curtains in the bedroom.  The door knob turned and there she was.  I could barely jump off the bed and rub my eyes open.  But she noticed.  She shook her head in disbelief and asked me what happened to what I told her this morning.  Apparently, in my good-morning-here-I-am-wide-awake-and-ready-to-work-and-support-this-household attitude I had mentioned that I will make sure that none of those nasty bugs that we often get in the springtime will be there when B gets home.  I saw the disappointment on her cute German face and felt so bad that I actually blushed under all my furry face hair. So, instead of blogging more this afternoon, I will have to get my tasks done.  Dosvidania, everyone.  (That is Russian in case you did not know.)

Snuggly weekend

Monday, May 15th, 2006

I had a very charming and quiet weekend.  B and I got lots of snuggle time in.  Mainly because it rained so much and it was cold.  In this weather, I like to lay on her belly under the blanket.  She is so warm and comfortable.  I think most of that comfortableness comes from her eating all that German candy.  It makes her pretty soft at certain body parts.  (Oh, I hope she won’t read this.  She will ban me from the bedroom for a week if she finds out I talk about her belly.)
Kip stayed with us one night and surprisingly there were no loud sneezes to wake me up during the night.  He has been having really bad allergies this season and B and I have suffered greatly with him.  Just imagine a big elephant sneezing.  That is what Kip sounds like.  It makes you fall out the bed, literally.  Well, I am glad he got a good night sleep and I am happy I got one.  Also, those sniffle boxes everywhere really don’t make our apartment look pretty.

Yucksters

This is scary.
I always hated big fat reptiles.  They have yucky dry skin and those big teeth.  They walk funny and they do not seem to have much of a brain.

We are selling some clothes.  Well, B that is.  But if you make a bid, I will get some special food and I would share it with you.  Go and bid, meow!
