How sad!

Snoozing spot

Thursday, April 27th, 2006

So, my favorite spot to snooze and relax on in the evening is B’s lap.  I got this cute picture of me doing just that from last night, but this stupid Friendster program says that I already uploaded 76 pictures this month and since I do not pay for my blog (just don’t have the money), I am only allowed to upload 50 pictures.  But that is total kitten poop, because, as you may notice, I have not uploaded that many pictures last month.  Because of this snafu (cool word!), I can only describe the cuteness of this picture to you.  I look sweet and innocent, soft and fluffy, I have a big smile on my face and my ears are curiously tilted to one side.  Maybe it is better that you won’t see it, or you would just die of all this Sadie beauty.  And why did I not make it on the most beautiful list of People magazine?

Painters

Wednesday, April 26th, 2006

Our house in Cambridge is being painted and while I hoped for crimson-berry (to honor Harvard University) and sunshine yellow trim (I like the sun.), the landlady decided to stick with the existing color - green and pink.  Boring!  I am so disappointed.  The one good thing about the painting, though, is the fact, that there is a bunch of men running around the house.  I get to watch them all day climb up and down ladders, paint and drink coffee.  I sit in the window and shake my little head when they do something stupid and I get very angry when they drop paint on B’s flowerbed.

Yes, this has happened.  I am very defensive of the flowerbed because all the little bugs that I like to chase come from there.  I also reckon that B put a lot of effort in putting all the bulbs into the ground.  We already have those macho-squirrels dig them up, dropping paint on them would definitely not further the cause and the flowers may never bloom.  And that would mean no bugs and I would be very angry.

I wish B had left the window open so I can hiss at the painters whenever paint drops down.

Snap, diddly-dah…

Snap, diddly-dah… Spring always brings some exciting for me.  We get bugs in the apartment and I am a serious bug hunter.  I love the things that fly the best.  I focus on them, figure out their projected flight, jump on the couch, lurk down and then snap, diddly-dah… I bring them down.  Yes, I get them most every time.  I can jump really high and I can even clap my paws together to grab them since I cannot make a fist.  I learned that by watching B do something similar.  Once I got these beasts, I smash them on the floor.  I am a bit cruel, because I let them run away from me and then I use my right paw and smack them.  If they are still alive after the smack, I do the same thing:  let them crawl away and smack again.  Utter joy can be found in this game.  B likes that I catch them, but she is not happy with my cruelty.  I say that as long as I am the hunter in the house, I do away with my prey as I like.  Snap, diddly-dah…

Saturday night disturbance

Monday, April 24th, 2006

So, I figured B and I will have a low key weekend, relaxing and chillin’ and enjoying each other company since she left me AGAIN for a vacation the week before.  But no, she and Kip went on Saturday and did not come home till 3:30am.  You figured now that B is 33, she will slow down a bit and become more of a home body.  It ain’t happening.  Meanwhile, I was sleeping and dreaming on the bed when they two of them go home.  Noise everywhere and Kip had to make himself something to eat.  I got a pat on the back, but no apologies for the disturbance.  The next morning, they slept in till noon and I was waiting for breakfast.  Unbelievable, those two.

I wonder why they are doing it.

Back

Friday, April 21st, 2006

Joy!  I am back.  Sorry for being gone for so long.  B took the ‘puter with her and none of my caretakers brought one.  All in all, I had fun with B’s peeps.  Ti was a bit of a duf, because he locked himself out the first day he was there.  Of course, my thumb cannot be used to unlock doors from teh inside and thus, he had to walk around the area for a while until one of our housemates came back and let him in through the basement.  Boyzzz!  But when he finally got in, we had a fun time and yes, I watched him take a shower.  I am such a naughty kitten sometimes.  Hehe…

Christina, my second caretaker, came to stay with from just having completed the Boston Marathon.  She is a fast one, finishing in under 3 hours and coming in 26th in the overall woman category.  Wow!  My kitten paws would hurt running after a 1/4 mile.  She got up at 5:55am every morning.  Why?  I ask myself that.  But I guess that is what you have to do to run that fast.

Well, I am happy B is back.  I have a full weekend planned for us with long afternoon naps, walks in the garden, chasing of bugs and eating lots of good kitten food.

Squirrels and caretakers

Friday, April 14th, 2006

So, today is the day that B is going on vacation.  She organized two caretakers for me this time.  My friend Tileston, who is this tall and very handsome man, will arrive tomorrow morning and stay with me through Monday.  Then Monday afternoon, Christina, who will just have completed the Boston marathon, will arrive and stay with me through Wednesday.  B promised to be back Wednesday evening.  I am nervous and excited, as I never had two people take care of me.  B said that she sent them both a two page letter with instructions and that I should not worry, but have fun.  The good thing is that she feels so guilty about leaving me that this entire week, I have been petted much more, received extra treats in my bowl and was allowed to be more wild than usual.

More wild, you ask?  Let me just tell you that the squirrels are digging up the pretty bulbs B planted in the garden and that it drives me absolutely insane to see them out there without being able to get to them.  I run back and forth between the bedroom and the kitchen to get the best possible view of them, hoping that they would get close enough so I can give them a kitten hiss.  B even took me out in her arms a couple days ago to scare them off.  But I have to tell you that they are HUUUUUGE on close-up and I was pretty scared when they looked at me with their wild eyes.  I tried to gather some courage and them a couple meek sounds.  I hope it was good enough and those bad-asses never come back.  (B is going to be upset with me for my word choice.)

That is for this week from me.  Last, but not least, I want to wish you all a Happy Easter.  Find the eggs, because they smell if they start to rot.  :)

Talking kittens

Fostercare

Thursday, April 13th, 2006

B is thinking about becoming a foster mommy for kittens that need a temporary home.  I am excited about it.  She told me that some of these kittens may be sick or in need of rest and that I should not consider this a play-partner event.  I promised to be sweet and kind to the visiting kittens and care for them during the day while B is at work.  I think it may be fun for me and it sure will help the kittens.  I remember being in the shelter feeling lonely among all those other kittens.  Going to someone’s home for a little while could be like a mini vacation for those kittens that have not found a home yet.  I did mention to B though that I am not willing to share my bad of Greenies and that she will have to get another bag for the visiting cats.  I think she agreed with me.  So for now I say "Bring ON the KITTENS!"
